SENIOR SERVICES
The Senior Services Program (SSP) provides senior adults with mental and physical disabilities the opportunity to transition from middle adulthood to old age in a setting which helps them to maintain meaningful lifestyles.
Training is provided by professional, qualified staff at a 1:3 staff: client ratio. An emphasis is placed on individual choice and the maintenance of personal freedom and dignity. The program provides opportunities for clients to interact with non-disabled seniors in community settings and to access a variety of senior services.
Clients are exposed to a variety of community and facility-based creative pursuits to help them make choices about the use of leisure time. Health maintenance is addressed, with emphasis on proper nutrition and exercise, as well as the aging process and its effects on the body.
Clients can access community health screenings. The option to perform part-time paid work is also available to adults in this program.
This program is available to clients living in Madera, Chowchilla, and surrounding areas.
